Privacy Policy

Effective September 17, 2026

stopgoat is a browser extension made by A Good Prompt to Live In, LLC ("we"). It is built to keep what you do on social sites to yourself. This policy says exactly what the extension stores, what leaves your computer, and why.

Does stopgoat collect or sell my data?

No. stopgoat has no accounts, analytics or tracking. It never collects the posts you see, what you type, who you follow or where you browse, and it sells nothing.

Where does stopgoat store what I save?

In your browser's local extension storage, on your computer. Settings, doodles, Treasures, screengrabs and photos are never sent to us or anyone else. Uninstalling stopgoat deletes them.

Does any data ever leave my computer?

Only what you choose to send: a payment for Pro, handled by ExtensionPay and Stripe, or a feedback or problem-report email you send from your own mail app.

The details follow.

The short version

What stays on your computer

These are saved in your browser's local extension storage and are never sent to us or anyone else:

Uninstalling stopgoat deletes all of it. To keep it, use Treasures → Back up & restore: it saves a backup file to your computer (it is never uploaded, and never includes your plan or payment details), which you can restore later, in this browser or another.

What the extension reads on social sites

On the supported sites (Reddit, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, X and YouTube) stopgoat rearranges the page you are already looking at into one post at a time. It reads that page only in your browser, to do that. It does not copy, store or send what you see, except the Treasures you deliberately save, which stay on your computer as described above.

Payments

stopgoat Pro is sold through ExtensionPay (extensionpay.com), which uses Stripe to take payment. When you upgrade, you give your email address and card details to them, not to the extension. The extension checks with ExtensionPay whether this installation has paid; to do that it identifies the installation to ExtensionPay with an identifier ExtensionPay generates. It never sends your browsing or anything from the sites you use. See ExtensionPay's privacy policy and Stripe's. We receive your email address and payment status so we can support your purchase; we do not receive your card number.

Feedback

"Send feedback" in Settings, and "Report a problem" on a page stopgoat couldn't show, open an email in your own mail app. Nothing is sent automatically. The email is pre-filled with the extension version, the site you were on and your browser version. Unless you untick it, it also includes technical details about how stopgoat saw the page: counts, states and settings. Before these are shown to you, post text, author names and titles are removed, and every link is reduced to its general shape (for example facebook.com/reel/<id>). You can read all of it before you send, and we use it only to answer you and fix problems.

When you uninstall

Your browser opens a short page on our site asking why you left. The only things it is told are the version of stopgoat you had and, through the page address, your browser's language, so the page can appear in it. Answering is optional.

Analytics

stopgoat contains no analytics. If we ever add anonymous usage counts to improve the product, they will be off until you turn them on, will never include content, URLs or anything that identifies you, and this policy will be updated first.

Children

stopgoat is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update the date above and, for any material change, say so in the extension.
